Café Express
On a dark night, before venturing into seeing “Ex Machina” at the Harkin’s movie theater, I decided to go into Town Square’s own Café Express. Located in Southlake, Café Express is a restaurant that at first, honestly didn’t catch my eye. Through both a recommendation and sheer luck that all the other restaurants closed at nine whilst Café Express closed at ten, my fate was bound to Café Express.
Entering Express
Café Express’ interior is very clean, very organized. A large array of tables with what appears to be a table in the center of the restaurant which has all kinds of condiments, dressings, silverware, etcetera. To the back of the restaurant is the register and behind closed doors, the kitchen.
The Food
Since it was 10:00 pm, I was sadly left to dine alone since my loyal companions decided to not order anything. I ordered a burger with blue cheese and bacon and prayed for the best.
The Famously Solitary Blue Cheese-Bacon Burger
Against all odds, this hamburger is probably one of the best I’ve ever tasted, the ingredients complemented each other perfectly, and the boldness of the blue cheese with the bacon’s crispiness and flavor made for an excellent combination. I must add, the fries the burger came with were heavenly as well. The whole dish was extremely solid.
Conclusion
Sadly enough, since I was left to dine alone and the restaurant was closing, I couldn’t order anything else to get a broader look from Café Express, but if the rest of their menu, which is comprised of salads, sandwiches burgers and pastas, is nearly as good as the hamburger I had, I’d gladly be a regular for this place. Café Express: Definitely worth a try.
